Guy scores 138 points in a game???

On November 20, 2012, Jack Taylor from division III, Grinnell College, scored an outstanding 138 points in 1 game. He broke a college basketball record with the most points in a game. That is not only a college basketball record, that is a record for every level of basketball. No one has ever scored that many points in 1 game. Wilt Chamberlain once scored 100 points in a game, which was never recorded; Kobe Bryant once scored 81 points in a NBA game, but Taylor has passed those to greats up with 138 points. He went 52-for-108 (27-for-71 from the 3-point line) in a 179-104 victory over Faith Baptist Bible college. The previous Grinnell record was 89 by Griffin Lentsch last Nov. 19 against Principia. "I gotta thank the man upstairs," Taylor said. "I was able to multiply my talents tonight." Taylor wasn't the only star of the game. Faith Baptist Bible's David Larson scored 70 points (34-for-44). But the two didn't discuss their parallel shooting success during the game, Taylor said.   Carmelo Anthony and the New Your Knicks were amazed by Taylor's feat when they heard about it after their victory in New Orleans. "I never heard of nothing like that. That's like a video game," Anthony said, an incredulous look on his face. "How can you shoot 100 times, though?"
He joked that from now on when someone asks if he's taking too many shots, he'll mention "that someone shot it 108 times." Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant also was astounded by the 108 shots.
"Jack Taylor you deserve a shot of Jack Daniels after that performance lol...wow," Durant tweeted.

Lakers Hire Mike D'antoni

First, the Los Angelos Lakers fire coach Mike Brown after 6 games. The talk of the basketball world was who's going to be the next Lakers coach. Everywhere names were being brought up. You had names like Brian Shaw, Nate Mcmillan, and even the famous Phil Jackson. Phil Jackson is probably the choice every Laker fan would want. He's brought them five championships in the past 13 years. He's one of the best coaches to ever coach in the world in any sport. Then out of no where, the new Lakers coach is not Phil Jackson, but ex New York Knicks coach, Mike D'antoni. Mike was fired from the Knicks last year as word was he didn't get along with all the players. The world is shocked, even the famous ex Laker player Magic Johnson stopped tweeting for some days because of the news. The Lakers are now 5-5 and look forward to having a good season.

New Houston Rocket player, James Harden, Does Better Then Expected

As from my last blog, last years sixth man of the year, James Harden, was in a huge trade that sent him to the Houston Rockets from the Oklahoma City Thunder.. A lot of people in the basketball world, was wondering how he would play as being the leader and star of a team. Since he had the NBA's leading scorer from last year in Kevin Durant, and one of the top point guards in Russel Westbrook on his team last year, sports fans wanted to know how is game would react in a different area. If anyone said he wouldn't play well, they thought wrong. So far James harden is averaging 35 points per game in his first 3 games of the season. Scoring 45 in his first game against the Atlanta Hawks and 37 against the Detroit Pistons. With such a great start of a season for the Rockets, they are looking for some playoff hopes in the near future. They know with the play of James Harden and point guard Jeremy Lin, they could go pretty far with both stars. James Harden has a very young team, but is ready to lead them on for the future.

OKC Trade Sixth man of The Year, James Harden.

Saturday night, Twitter went on a tweeting spree when the news of 2011-12 Sixth Man of Year, James Harden had just been traded. The Thunder acquired guards Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb, two first-round picks and a second-round pick in the surprising deal that was completed Saturday night. Oklahoma City also sent center Cole Aldrich and forwards Daequan Cook and Lazar Hayward to Houston. The Thunder offered Harden $55.5 million over four years -- $4.5 million less than the max deal Harden coveted and will get from the Rockets. Harden averaged 16.8 points and 3.7 assists last season, and joined Durant and Westbrook on the U.S. men's Olympic team. He struggled badly in Oklahoma City's loss to Miami in the NBA Finals, but the Thunder felt good about their chances of getting back there with another year of experience for their young stars, all 24 or younger.
"I would love to Thank Oklahoma City for 3 amazing years!" Harden tweeted Sunday. "Teammates and Fans were thee best. The love will always be there. Thanks Again."

First Female Coach In The NBA?

Natalie Nakase was a former point guard at UCLA and as a pro in Japan. She then suffered an injury, which then stopped her from playing basketball, so she put focus some where else. She loved the game of basketball so much, she then wanted it to become her profession, but not as a player but a coach. She recently found a job as an intern for the video coordinator for the L.A. Clippers, which gives her a foot in the NBA door. "Everyone doubted me, even coaches," Nakase said. "Even on campus, people thought I was on the gymnastics team. Stuff like that I use as motivation to work even harder and I've been pretty much proving everyone wrong since." She trains with NBA player Earl Watson. To say that I think she’s going to be an NBA head coach is a little bit far-reaching. I do believe that we will see in the next few years some coach giving her an opportunity on the court. I don’t think it’s going to be in a decision-making role, I think it’s going to be behind the scenes. But she would be on the bench and I do think the NBA is willing to take that step

NBA Preseason Starts

For all NBA fans, the preseason has finally started. The 2012-13 NBA season is one of the top seasons that people have been looking forward to. NBA fans have dealt with the Lakers getting Steve Nash and Dwight Howard. The Heat picked up Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. The now Brooklyn Nets got Joe Johnson from a huge trade. The Knicks let go Jeremy Lin, but picked up Raymond Felton, veterans Jason Kidd, Rasheed Wallace, and Marcus Camby. And there was more news, but I don't want to go to long with that. This is just a huge season that people are looking forward to watch. The preseason may not be the real season, but it's what us NBA fans have to deal with until October 31st. A couple of good games happened this weekend with the Clipper beating the Heat in China. New Your beat Boston in a overtime win.

Phil Jackson Says "Lebron has tools that equal to Jordan"

Since Lebron James was a freshman, he has been known as a phenom. Now in his 9th season in his NBA, Lebron has proved to his haters, that he can win championship. The talk of the NBA right now is not the start of the preseason, it is the Michael Jordan and Lebron James comparison. It spread even quicker when Phil Jackson made comments about the two great players. "He's got all the physical attributes," Jackson said. "He is a player that can play four positions. Except for perhaps the center spot, which he hasn't (been) given a shot at yet, he can play those other four positions quite well.  This is unique; Michael could play three and was very good at all three of those, but as a power player that LeBron can become, I think he has an opportunity to explore and advance some of the status that he has already gained."
"Winning six championships is an elusive thing out there, and they haven't won two yet," Jackson said. "But he's kinda got the smell of it, and even the Olympic experience this summer, he was the granted leader of that team and was the critical player when they needed something to happen in the final games.  I think he's there, I think he's at that position. He's got good things ahead of him and a lot of it depends upon if he's gonna be healthy for the remainder of his career."
Lebron won his first championship at the age 27 and Michael won his first at the age 28. Lebron is in his prime and has more years to come. Will he one day be better then Jordan is the question.
